Content marketing specialist (who also happens to skydive in her spare time)
As a former dancer and current book and photography lover, I have always been a creative “right-brain” person who loves storytelling. I grew up in Connecticut but currently live in South Carolina, where I regularly indulge in hiking and camping escapades. My love affair with words began early — penning short stories and "novels" as a kid. It was clear to me that writing had to be part of my professional journey. That’s when I found an apprenticeship called Praxis. Instead of taking the college route and getting stuck in a mountain of debt, Praxis allowed me to learn everything I needed to know about copywriting in 1 year to get my feet wet for the marketing landscape. Pairing this with my homeschooling background, I’ve embraced the beauty of taking the road less traveled. It turns out, that breaking away from the conventional path not only broadens horizons but can help you discover things about yourself that you wouldn’t have otherwise uncovered.
After wrapping up my Praxis journey, I snagged my first marketing gig and worked at three other agencies before discovering the powerhouse team at Hounder. When I'm not crafting killer content for businesses, you'll likely find me nestled with a book, treasure-hunting at thrift stores, hitting the hiking trails, or shopping for even more books (despite my ever-growing "to-be-read" pile).
Q&A
I’m not sure if Bratz dolls qualify as action figures, but they were my ultimate obsession. While Barbie held a special place in my heart, my love for Bratz was so intense that my entire room became a Bratz-themed haven.
The first thing that came to mind was “The Sea Dragon” since a ship from the latest book series I’ve been reading “Throne of Glass” has a ship named that. And honestly, if you mention dragons, I’m all in. It perfectly captures the kind of fantasy tales that captivate me.
My go-to answer is always Hogwarts since I’m a huge Potterhead. But lately, I read the book series “A Court of Thorns and Roses” and there’s a city in the mountains called “Velaris” which seems like the most peaceful place to be in a chaotic fantasy world, so I would want to visit there too.
Tea 100%. I have tried all different types of coffee and I’ve gagged for most of them. I used to put milk in my tea when I was a kid, but now I just like to add some sugar and I’m good to go.
Probably being able to do a backbend. I used to do acrobatics as a kid and while my flexibility is not what it used to be, I can still flip into a backbend to this day.
The only “injury” I can think of is that I ripped my fingernail off trying to steady myself in a river while I was tubing. There was a fork in the river and my mom and I were trying to gauge if we’d make it off this short cliff which seemed like the only option for the way we wanted to go. Not sure if that’s considered dumb, but it was the most memorable tubing trip I have so it made for an adventure.
The books I’ve read recently are:
Some movies I’ve seen recently:
I hated school cafeteria food (before I was homeschooled) so I would probably say gas station food since it reminds me of taking pit stops during a road trip and grabbing all the snacks you want for the long drive ahead!
